thankful Thursday.

Well I am participating in thankful Thursday. This is something I do all the time as I am thankful for all I have.

There are 2 verses that keep me going when times have gotten tough they are:

Philippians 4:13

13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

and
Romans 8:28 Or that all things work together for good to those who love God, who; or that in all things God works together with those who love him to bring about what is good—with those who.

Whenever I watch things on TV where people have been through some devastating things and show such amazing strength it makes me thankful for what I have and admire those who seem to handle it so well.

Although we have been through some really tough times especially of late I know that God has a plan in it all. The way I see is that by me going through certain situations I will then be able to relate to others who go through similiar things and hopefully be a light to guide them through the tough times.

Since James and I have been together we have gone through:

2 miss-carriages
James being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Diabetes
James had a motor bike accident in February of this year
Jessica, our 5th child, was born 33 weeks preemie
July last year we were almost homeless
James dad passed away November, 2010 from terminal cancer.

March 2010 Samuel had a broken Femur after Matthew jumped off the lounge onto his leg.

Both our boys Samuel and Matthew were diagnosed with Autism/Asperger in September 2009.

Through all of those crisis James and I have remained strong. I am thankful that we have been together for 15 years and will be married for 13 years on 11th July. He is my soul mate and best friend.

I am thankful for my family, my 5 beautiful children, 2 girls and 3 boys. Jessica even though she was preemie was my blessing. Even though we hadn't really planned to have another child because 4 were enough, Jessica was our little surprise. I always had the no. 5 going round in my head not in regards to children. I would always just think 5 at different times. I now believe that is because we were meant to have 5 children. I had always wanted Nicola (our no. 2) to have a sister. I have a sister and because Nicola was out numbered by the boys I though it would be so nice for her to have someone who she could relate to. Nicola was actually there when we had the Ultra sound and found out that we were having another girl. There are heaps more things I am grateful but I will leave them for another day.

I am also particpating in other blog hops you can find here.

    1. I think that you are doing an amazing job. Being a teacher I know how difficult life can be with ASD. We are heading on a family vacation Friday where one of our stops is to stay with a former student who has Aspergers!

    4. I admire your positive attitude and strength during rough times. I recently
Wrote a post about being thankful....there are people with much easier times who do not understand others have it worse. God bless.

    5. You picked 2 verses that I rely on daily. I find that I have become a lot more thankful since deepening my relationship with God. I devote time to him everyday and it has really changed my life for the better, although it also presents a whole new set of challenges to "transform" myself (Romans 12:2 and others). But, meeting the new challenges seem to be so much more productive.
God Bless. Stay in faith and never give up! God will make a way.

    6. Sarah,
I found you from Thankful Thursday and am so happy I did!
Your verses are ones I rely on as well as my favorite 'life verse' Jeremiah 29:11...when we go through trials such as what you have went through, it is awesome to know that God loves us and wants us to have hope!

    7. Good for you for having such a good positive outlook on your life. I'm not Christian but I do feel we are given what we can handle and what we are meant to have.

    10. I love your Thankful Thursday list! It's so important to take the time to be thankful for all we HAVE instead of just wishing for what we don't have. My husband and I have been married 19 years and have also been through a lot together: a horrific car accident that almost killed our oldest daughter (then age 4) but instead left her severely brain injured, years of stressful rehabilitation following that accident, and two recent miscarriages - not to mention the day to day struggles of raising nine children. But yet, we love our life, and the struggles just make us stronger and more thankful for all that we have. Life is good, very good.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your sweet comment. I am a new follower :)
